My Makeup Makeover and Love for Kim Kardashian

I'm a big Kim Kardashian fan. I think her look is sexy, yet cute at the same time. I really love her makeup the most though. I am determined to figure out how to do it exactly. I know she recently released a gift set in honor of Mother's day with a mini version of her signature scent and an eye and lip palette. That is all too easy for me. I've been watching some make up tutorials on YouTube and it made me realize how much drugstore brand products I've been buying. My last Sephora purchase was the Celebutante palette from Benefit Cosmetics. It isn't for sale anymore. It included two lipsticks, a deep red and a pink/nude (love!), two eye shadows (I've been using almost daily, their Dallas bronzer (gone now), High Beam highlighter and a double sided brush. My Two Faced Pink Leopard bronzer is gone as well... and I am in desperate need of self tanner because I am so pale do to me running around with no time to soak up the sun. So, you need money to buy these fancy cosmetics, right? I got a two week babysitting gig. This accompanies my lack of love for children but the cash is worth it.With makeup, I'm going to save some money and maybe you should take some notes too :)

Eyeshadow
I don't use tons of eyeshadow everyday and I mostly use browns/neutrals because I don't like to over do my makeup. I do sometimes like to experiment. If I'm wearing a mostly black or plain outfit, it's always fun to spark it up with a fun color. Palettes work really well in my case, I can use my basics, but still have fun. I don't have to spend money on a billion single eye shadows either. I can get the best of both worlds all in one package. A lot of palettes also have eye liner or the line's "cult product". These are of great value, for a small price.

Sephora Shopping List Item #1:
$36
You Get: 10 Shadows, a brush, and a travel-sized Eye Shadow Primer Potion.

Bronzer
I use bronzer daily. It's almost like foundation for me except I don't put it all over my face. I don't use foundation, just concealer, so my bronzer is like my "base coat" for my face. It doesn't go away as fast as foundation would for a lot of people. I liked Benefit's Dallas but I fell in love with their Hoola. It's more natural looking and more tan and not rosy.

Sephora Shopping List Item #2:
$28

Self-Tanner
Okay, I always look like the bad guy when it comes to being tan. I am constantly tan. It is my excuse to not wear foundation. It makes me look like I just got off the plain from Huntington Beach. My love for bronzer, the art of surfing and hippies has made me a tanning junkie. But to reduce my risk of skin cancer, I have stopped using the tanning bed. But why go back to my Edward Cullen color when I love when I'm tan? I don't have to. Thanks to St. Tropez, I can keep my tan all year round. I've heard nothing but good about this product. It's only downfall is it's price. But I've done the math and I would be able to use the tanning bed 4 times or buy 5 bottles of tanning oil or 2 bottles of lotion. I can keep my tan with St. Tropez's Self Tan Bronzing Lotion for 5-7 days and reapply when it starts to fade. St. Tropez even tells me how to put on my self tanner professionally. I have to thank College Fashion writer Elizabeth for her article because I wouldn't have known about this video or how amazing this lotion is.

Sephora Shopping List Item #3:
$40 for 8 oz.

When I figure out which eyeshadows I need to master the Kim K look, I will report. I am absolutely excited to buy all these new things. I want to try them all out really soon or I might burst.

Your Closet: Step One....

I know my closet is just a disaster sometimes. It's really small, all my clothes do not fit in it, there's boxes, bags, old school binders, shoes, purses.......everything. If you're a pack rat like me who insists on keeping things because you just know it will be back in style soon enough (and sometimes you're right). I'm here to tell you how to organize all of your...stuff.

Step One:
Admit you have a problem.

You are not Carrie Bradshaw. Those sandals are worn out. That purse is ugly and was a trend that's never coming back, sequins anyone? Throw away things that you're holding onto for no apparent reason. Sort by your three basic piles:
Keep: This will probably be your biggest pile. This includes anything that is valuable, things you wear often, things from your mom/grandma/friend/family member/significant other that is of great value. It can be your mom's first Louis Vuitton that she passed down to you, it can be the first sweater you ever had, if it has emotional value as well as monetary value, keep it! I'm not talking about, "Omg, this is the shirt I wore when Jake asked me out!" You and Jake didn't work out, right? Exactly....

My Keep Pile:
Ralph Lauren polos/Regular polos. Why? They're classic, I wear them often and they're good for pretty much every season. They never go out of style.
Layering Tanks/Shirts: Okay, this has restrictions. I keep them if I've bought them recently, wear them often or they work in different outfits. In most cases, it's all three. If they have holes in them, they're worn out or threadbare, I get rid of.
Jeans: This category also has restrictions. I keep all of my jeans that go as following: They're designer, like my 7s. If I wear them a lot, My White House Black Market jeans that I got at the outlet mall. They're comfortable, jeans that are too big but can be belted and rolled for my lazy days.
Camisoles/ Dress Shirts: These are trend-varying in most closets. I still have a cami from my Abercrombie and Fitch days that I wear with my lazy day jeans, it still fits, it's cute. I keep it because it's versatile and no one has it anymore. With dress shirts including flannel (which everyone should keep!!) I try them on and make sure they fit in the chest area, the stomach and the arms. I work out and I have a bigger chest so tighter shirt become an issue with my arm muscles and buttoning them up.
Dresses/ Skirts/ Dress Pants/ Formal Wear: I buy a lot of dresses from Forever 21 for going out because I don't like wearing the same dress twice to occasions. I'm not anal, it's just that some events require that dress. With Forever 21, they have cute dresses and skirts for different occasions and they're cheap so I don't have to worry about spending too much money. My closet is building up slowly due to these dresses, which I will address down below so just wait. I usually buy pricey dress pants (around $70) unless I find good ones at TJ Maxx. Places like the Gap and Express make long lasting dress pants that, if you take care of them, last a long time. Keep them.
Shoes: Keep winter boots that you will wear next season. I always buy classic boots for winter because I want to wear them for multiple seasons. If your winter boots are in tact, the soles aren't bare and they still fit, keep them.
With sandals and flip flops, do a careful examination. I usually keep a couple pairs of flip flops around to walk inside the house. If they're newer and not cheap ones like Old Navy (I do love theirs though) keep them. Rainbos and Havianas are the best flip flop brands, they are pricey but they are good on your feet and last long.
Smell your flats and athletic shoes. If they aren't new, and aren't smelling, keep them.

Give: This is the best part of cleaning your closet out. There's always that one shirts or those pair of shoes that you barely wore that your friend always asks to borrow. You can give it to her if you don't want it anymore. Then there's always places like the Salvation Army and Goodwill to give your unwanted items to.

My Give Pile:
Jeans that are trendy and I don't wear anymore.
Sweaters that are thick, wooly or ones I don't wear a lot.
Trendy belts that I only wore a couple of times.
Clutch bags/ Purses that were a one time deal.
Tank tops with little holes in them, not completely unwearable.
Shoes that were trendy or I don't wear anymore.
Sweatpants/ Sweatshirts or exercise clothes that are bit smelly or stretched out.

Trash: The last, but most important pile. This might be hard for some, but just know you are doing yourself a favor. If you clean out the clutter, you're making room for more fabulous items. Just think that way.

My Throw Pile:
Anything that is  unwearable: broken, worn out, straps are ripped, the padding is going (directed toward your old bathing suits!), the soles are worn, etc.
Old flip flops
Worn out shoes
Anything permanently smelly
Sweat clothes that are disgusting
Stained things
Old underwear/ broken bras.
Holey socks
Broken belts/purses/wallets/jewelry

My Style (Summer Version)

Okay, so in this post, I am going to talk about my personal style. It's probably a lot like any normal girl, but then again, maybe not. These are just some examples of what I would wear. I'm not going to go really in depth, it would take hours.

First off, excuse my Photo Shop skills. I'm new to it.

So the t-shirt is from Ivy Sport. I am set on going to Yale University. It's been that way since 7th grade. I show pride in my undying ambition by sporting my Yale t-shirt. This one has a vintage feel to it, and it's a guy's shirt and gives me this free spirit, sexy feeling. The jeans are the Lexy A Pocket Petite jeans from 7 For All Mankind (Photo Credit: Nordstrom) I love these jeans because they have a stretch, and they hug all right places. They are a little bit low rise and I usually don't like that in jeans, but I've fallen in love with these. They were the best Christmas present ever from my aunt. The scarf is from Gap. I can't find a big, vintage looking scarf like the ones I wear, but this is close enough. I like Gap because they do the whole preppy, fresh thing without missing trends. Scarves are perfect for dressing up t-shirts. The shoes are from American Eagle and resemble the ones I bought there earlier in Spring. I wear gladiator sandals everyday in the summer, or just really cute sandals like these. I don't go for the whole matchy-matchy thing all the time. I usually get dressed quickly, so I don't care about my shoes. These sandals work because they are darker like the t-shirt and scarf in my opinion. The tote is Roxy from Nordstrom. This is about the size of my Juicy Couture tote that I cannot find a picture of whatsoever. But, I like big, huge bags that fit my life into it. In the summer I'm not too fond of switching bags so I pick something simple that would go with many outfits. I like the dash of pink this. The Friendship Bracelet is Juicy Couture from Nordstrom. I don't have this actual bracelet but in Pittsburgh we have a place called the Strip District where there's a bounty of eateries, bread makers, cheese stores, Obama-worthy pancakes, sun dresses, friendship bracelets and sports t-shirts. Last, but not least, the pearl earrings, also from Nordstrom. I wear these everyday without fail. They make me feel pretty, no need to say more.

I own a bunch of Old Navy V-Neck T-shirts or "The Perfect T-Shirt". They frequent the dirty clothes pile because I wear them so much. They go with anything and are a definite must have! The skirt from Forever 21 (I direct linked it because every one needs one of these!) and it was extremely cheap... $8.50. If that's not a deal, then I don't know what is. The sandals are also from Forever 21. The wristlet is obviously Coach. I got a Coach wristlet a few years ago for Christmas and it is the ultimate going out accessory. It's easily accessible and not too hefty for walking around.

I love yoga pants. They are the best things in the world. Really. These are from Victoria's Secret. They're stretchy but make your butt look good. The tank top and the sports bra are both Aerie. Instead of wearing a bra and another tank top, a fun color sports bra subs for both. The Rainbow Sandals are from Nordstrom (Yes, I DO love that store.) These sandals are so comfortable, you'll never want to take them off.

I hope you enjoyed my post :)

Inspired By: Rachel Berry

Okay, I think we can all say Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) has some of the most interesting outfits on Glee. Some of them are outrageous, others are fun and colorful. Here are some classy (work appropriate) outfits inspired by Rachel herself.
