Blogger of the Moment: Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls

I don't know about you, but I am always in sort of a crunch when people ask me to define what my style is. I honestly never know what to say...like ever. One half of me is this free spirit, hippie, Free People catalog, surfer girl and the other side is Ralph Lauren cable-knit sweater and Sperry girl....I guess it is always good to have some variation. Despite my internal fashion debacle, I am so in love with Sarah Vickers style. She is the definition of classic.

Sarah, who runs the blog, Classy Girls Wear Pearls, is an employee at Kiel James Patrick, an American accessories company that specializes in bracelets, belts, earrings, among other things, all of which embody true American prep style. I could not imagine Sarah working somewhere more perfect. The one thing that sticks out to me is how Sarah never underestimates classic pieces, like above, with a white button down and a pair of dark blue cords, to convey her own style.

I encourage you to check out Kiel James Patrick also. They provide just as much style inspiration as Sarah does. Sarah also has a new bracelet collection that just debuted, appropriately named the Vickers' Bow Collection

The Lily Pount Meadows Bracelet from the Vickers' Bow Collection.

If you're looking for a way to style a classic piece based outfit, or just looking for some style inspiration, Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls is the girl to look at! She is definitely a favorite of mine. She also makes me feel totally horrible for my winter uniform of jeans, TOMS and a Northface jacket....but hey! I'm trying to survive college!

What I'm Loving: October

I have a love/hate relationship with fall. I love a new season, I love not feeling that sticky humidity on my skin and I especially love the clothes! What I don't like is the coldness, the rainy-ness, and I'm pretty sure my professors pump up the quizzes and tests in the fall! Anyways, it's a lovely season bringing renewal to: the fashion world, the school world and the work world. Everybody has their favorite things about fall: from clothes to food.

When To Invest: Handbag, Clothing and Shoes

Fashion can get pricey, especially when you love clothes more than you love most things. Clothes can become a great passion and a great excitement in people's lives. Sometimes the thrill of shopping can brighten up the darkest of days, months and weeks for people. While it's great to find the Chanel scarf of your dreams at a consignment store for $5 [as I did], it's even better to buy the Louis Vuitton bag or the Chanel bag or the Alexander Wang or the Balenciaga bag...you get the point...of your dreams from the store, in the brand name bag, with the brand name dust bag, with the cards saying it's REAL!!! and the satisfaction of having said bag in your possession forever! This would be called an investment piece.

An investment piece is usually timeless. Timeless can also be subject to your own definition but to me, timeless is a piece you wear often, is ALWAYS in season, on trend and relevant; something that matches your wardrobe to an everyday extent; something you will love when you're 85 years old.
